Well, we've had some fabulous classes this past year! Those of you who have taken our classes have discovered what a great treasure these online classes are. They are the perfect answer for those who can't get to the large shows and even for those who do. You can work at your own pace in the comfort of your own home and have as much or as little interaction with your instructor and other students as you like. If you work at a slower pace, no worries there, all of the class content will be available to you for several months after the official completion of the class. And all at a budget friendly price. Now it's time to gear up for our 2010 classes. We have some great things to offer you this year.
Beginning January 11,2010, Carla Barrett is doing her "Quilt Whisperer" class again. The first class was packed full and everyone had a ball and learned tons! If you didn't get in on the first class, there's still time to sign up for this one, but hurry!
Then in February, Suzanne Earley will be offering her "Feather Bootcamp" class again. This was another class that was wildly popular and crammed full of information on the art of feathers. If you missed it the first time around, you'll definitely want to get in on it this time! The class will start February 8th and run through March 12th 2010. Details and registration will open shortly after the first of the year, so stay tuned.
Also, starting February 22, 2010, Deb Levy will start an ongoing series of mini-classes called "Getting the Most from your Circle Lord". These will be one week a month, and each month we'll work with a different template. You can take just one or the whole series! So all you Circle Lord owners stayed tuned for the details coming shortly after the first of the year!
And we have many other classes in the works for 2010:
Suzanne is working on a new freehand class, AND several "technology for quilters" classes. Sounds intriguing doesn't it?
Deb also will be offering a new class called "In the Background" that will explore all types of background fills,when to use them and what types of threads and battings are appropriate for them.
And we will be introducing some new teachers to our MQR faculty. All of this and more await you in 2010 here at MQR University. So stay tuned for all the details after the holidays.
Due to the unexpectedly overwhelming response to Carla's class, Quilt Whisperer 101, we've had to close the first session, and have now opened registration for a 2nd session which we have scheduled for January 2010.

Ever struggle to pick the best quilting design for your quilt? Are you all too familiar with the “stand & stare” method for choosing quilting design? Join Carla’s fun, online class and learn her unique method of “quilt whispering” or reading a quilt. This class will help you look at quilt topsin a new light, and improve your own skill at understanding how a quilt needsto be quilted.
This is a 3 week online class that will cover factors and decisions that go into quilting design. Fun creative exercises will improve your designing skills and assist you to pick appropriate designs for any quilt. Using video format, Carla will also share her favorite easy quilting designs and how to quilt them.
The last class is always a favorite! Using real life quilt tops* that students send her, Carla will show you in detail how she pulls it all together using her quilt whispering skills to visually illustrate what you have learned in Class 1 & 2. Carla will also share how she uses technology with quilt design and also working with clients for those students in business.
The class begins November 16 and runs through December 4, 2009. The cost is $41.25 and as always, Premier members will receive a discount. Registration is open.
