Watch this space for updates as the forum upgrade progresses. I'm not even going to give an estimate for how long it will take: whenever I do, I'm wrong. So...it will take as long as it will take, and I'll try to post at least hourly with an update, so our faithful community isn't left completely in the dark. Thanks for your patience. 2:40PM I've reopened the forums. Cosmetically, there will be some additional changes to come, but for now I'm going to let you all back in to look around and start figuring some things out. Thanks for your patience.
2PM I could probably let all of you back in, but I want this recount process to finish first, and we are so darned chatty: there area lot of posts for it to look at!! We're getting closer, though. I'm having to punt a bit on the template issue, and the forums won't have the new template that I want to use for another day or two, but the default will get us through.
12:30PM I lied. I missed a step in the upgrade process to get the posts updated. It's about halfway done, and I'm still fighting with the template. More later...
11:30AM I'm still messing with how the forums look. The template I picked was designed by young men with young eyes, and I thought I'd found all of the places where colors or font sizes needed to be fixed, but I'm still cleaning up some stuff I don't like. I'm going to take a quick lunch break and then get back to work.
10:30AM Turns out the upgrade didn't take as long as I had expected!! Now, I'm working on the look and cleaning up some other details. 9:50AM Files have been uploaded, the database is now being upgraded. This is the part that will take a fairly significant amount of time. 9:30AM Backups are done, new files are being uploaded. 9AM Forum closed for maintenance and database backup started. |
