I've compiled a few notes about things that members will want to check on in the forum in order to make sure everything looks and functions the way it ought to.

In the old forum, you could click on the PROFILE button to update your settings -- in our new software, the same thing is accomplished by visiting your Control Panel. In the upper right-hand corner of your Forum screen, you will see several links: click on MY CONTROLS to visit the Control Panel.

Over on the left-hand side of the Control Panel screen is the list of menu items that you can visit and update.

You'll particularly want to check out the items listed under Personal Profile -- check out your Profile Information, Avatar Settings, and Signature to make sure that all of the information is accurate.

You will also want to check out Email settings (which gives you the option to hide your e-mail address from other members if you would like to do so). If you choose to subscribe to topics or forums, you can check out the settings here, which determine whether or not you get the full text of the posts, and whether or not you want an e-mail notification of Private Messages.

Also take a look at Board Settings -- to set your current Time Zone.

If you have chosen to Ignore Forums, you can visit Block Forums (the link is in the list under Options), to select which forums you want to Ignore. Posts in these forums will no longer appear on your lists of New Posts. Use CTRL-Click to select more than one forum.

As quilters we are no different -- we want to produce beautiful quilting and we want to do it yesterday.   Now, I'll grant you that there are some prodigies in the machine quilting world, but those prodigies are pretty few and far between.  The rest of us have to work at our craft, and what may look effortless is actually the result of many long years of hard work.

Practice might be spelled with 8 letters, but I'm sure many people consider it a "4-letter" word -- one that you'd rather not hear in your house and try to use as little as possible.  I'm here to tell you, though, that this particular "P" word and several of its friends are not as horrible as you might think, and I'd like to give you some tips and ideas about how to effectively practice.
